BanaBay finalist for growing business award

The rapid worldwide expansion of BanaBay, the UK headquartered Ecuadorian banana brand, has been recognised by Growth Accelerator and has been shortlisted for ‘The Brave & The Bold’ awards.

The government backed service which fields a team of industry experts to support growing businesses received nominations for BanaBay’s overseas activities and placed it in the Globetrotter category.

In just over 18 months the premium brand of bananas has grown from a single container of bananas into the UK to its current level of 53 containers or 5.7 million bananas a week shipped around the world.

BanaBay MD, Mark O’Sullivan is delighted that BanaBay has been identified as ‘Brave & Bold’:

“This is a fantastic honour for BanaBay and I want to thank my entire team for all their efforts in getting us shortlisted.  As well as growing the business financially, we started out with just two people and in less than a year we have now assembled an international team of 14. We now have the ability to provide best-in-class customer service to our customers as within the team we have 8 languages which can be spoken.  What makes BanaBay different is the personal touch we have with our customers as we strive to become an extension to their business.”

The winner of the Brave & Bold accolade will be announced at a prestigious awards evening to be held in Mayfair on Thursday 5th June.
